March in Review

OK - I'm a little more timely on my review of March. Looking back, it's been a pretty full month! Whew!
March 2nd - First service at Sandhills without Ken. Tough, tough day.
March 6th - Got flowers from George! (Matt) They were be-a-u-tiful!
March 7th - SCCS Auction Night! Wonderful time...the school earned over $70k. What a HUGE, HUGE blessing for our little school! Thanks Roger and Cathy and Lisa and everyone else who poured their life into putting this together.
March 9th - Church meeting to vote on dissolution of our church's relationship with our pastor of 15 years. Sad time.
March 9th to 15th - In Knoxville for training on Incident Investigation and Human Error Mitigation for my job. Really good class and a really good time away by myself in the midst of turmoil at home. Dinners alone, reading books, in bed by 8pm, RE-laxing! Totally selfish time!
March 15th - stopped in Greensboro at Edward McKays, a used bookstore, and browsed for an hour or so. Good store!
March 15th - visit from Steve Hill, our old Assistant Pastor, for an hour or so. So good to see him.
March 15th to 26th - Sondie's parents came down from West Virginia. We got to know Neeve and Raynard over the next two weeks. Sweet people. So thankful that God gave me a chance to get to know them.
March 19th - Wednesday night 1/2 price martini's at the Jefferson Inn with Sondie, Susie (her twin) and Lynette. Ran into Meg Martin there, too. It's been good to get to know Susie. Funny, funny stories about Sondie and Susie growing up in West Virginia.
March 16th - Dinner at the Burackers for Steve and Diane Hill. Mary got to spend a few hours with them at the SCC gardens, too. Love them so much!
March 20th - Matt's surgery on his right shoulder (second go around). All went well and he's recovering just fine. Praise God!
March 23rd - Easter Sunday! Lunch with Sean's girlfriend Jessica and Ellen's friend Mac. A good time.
March 23rd to 29th - Poor Ellie sick again all week with tons of sores in her mouth and throat. She's been through a lot this year.
March 29th to 30th - Spent the night with Lynn, Lynette, and Sondie at the lakehouse and went back to Greensboro to the used book store. Lots of new books! Goodie, goodie!
March 30th - Dinner at Jessica's parents (Alicia and Curtis) for her birthday. We played taboo and watched the Davidson and Kansas game.

March 31st - Dinner at Tripps with the NY6. Praise God ALL were present!

February in Review

I've been meaning to get to this, but frankly, February has been a hard month. I guess, it was good until the 25th, but things went crazy after that. So - I've been remiss in doing my month in review for February, but better late than never!

1. Feb. 5th: Had dinner with Sean's lady-love Jessica. First time we really got to meet her.

2. Feb. 6th: Went to Ash Wednesday service at the Episcopal Church. My first Ash Wednesday service!

3. Feb. 10th: Went to the early morning (7:30am) Episcopal Church service just to see what it was like. Then went on to our church.

4. Feb. 13th: Mary performed as Fern in her school's Charlotte's Web play.

5. Feb. 15th: Went to see the Buddy Holly play at the local theater with Matt and Mark and Amy Ivey for a late Valentine's present. We ate at the Bell Tree first. It was a wonderful night!

6. Feb. 18th-24th: Worked fast and furious with Lisa Wilson putting together the school's auction catalog.

7. Feb. 24th: Little girls danced in church. Mary was one of the dancers and it was a guitar-lead song (Through the Door) with Sean playing. It made me cry.

8. Feb. 25th: Lynn called me while I was shopping in Wal-mart to tell me that the session had asked for Ken's resignation.

January in Review

I decided to try to review each month in 2008 so I can go back at the end of the year and see what all God has done! So - here goes:

2. Joined 'A Year of Exercising Dangerously' with some friends.
3. Matt & Sean went to the National Championship game in New Orleans. Geaux Tigers!
4. Matt & I got through another New Hire class at Trinity.
5. I went on a fabulous trip with 5 friends to New York. Saw my sister there (who was in NY
with two girlfriends of her own) on her birthday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art!
6. Ellen got sick with mono. :(
7. Lynn & I put together the Missions Month Devo booklet.
8. Made it through a season of the year that has historically been emotionally rough without going off the deep end! :)
9. Ate much, much healthier (see sidebar goals). Maybe even lost a few pounds! :)
10. Met a new friend online - Laura at Qu0tidian Mysteries!

That's about it! We'll see what February brings! :)
