Just so you know, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you prepare for the 1/2 marathon this month. All of my sweet bob friends are close to my heart and always in my prayers - even though we are thousands of miles apart this month. You inspire me. Thanks for posting. God has been instilling many of the same lessons in my heart. I have heard this before from God, but it's like a refresher course. :-) I really enjoy your blog and look forward to our next meeting. B, I feel your pain with the reading thing. And, honestly, it makes me worry much less about myself to here it's happening to YOU, of. all. people!

In trying to analyze myself, all I can come up with, besides age / menapause, is the internet effect. I think all this surfing, facebook, pinterest flitting around has given me the attention span of a gnat.

Wonderful goals. It isn't easy, especially when you are creative and you're feel in' "squirrelly" as well. :-) I did this a few months ago, but still need to organize my art/craft supplies. I really miss having a studio! You seem to accomplish so much in the same 24 hours that the rest of us have. Inspiring.... :-) Bobbie

This is terrific! I resolved to do 1 bag of trash and 1 box to Goodwill this year. It seems slow. Maybe I will modify it for Lent. I am excited about lightening the load.

So I think you should read The Scarlet Letter which When She Woke is based upon. Reading both and comparing and contrasting them may change your mind about When She Woke. The author of When She Woke definitely expresses her political and religious views, but reading both books gives you a lot to talk and think about! I think Mudbound is a great read...for what it is worth! Amy

I just watched Margin Call last night. It was a slow, brainiac type of movie. I had to go on wikipedia to get some background and remember it was Lehman Brothers that started the mess.

Big thumbs up for Slumdog Millionaire and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Flatland, by Abbott, was the basis for several of Martin Gardner's articles in Scientific American. The book 'Techie Worlds', available from Amazon, looks at the impossible things Jesus affirmed, like Resurrection of the Body, and shows how the Flatland concept makes it (and the idea of the Trinity) very logical and doable. 'Techie Worlds' contains most of Flatland. Abbott's ideas confirm a lot of Christian teaching.
