I'm new to the art scene...
I'm a left-brain engineer trying to learn to develop my "right-brain-ness." All this really started when I bought "Praying in Color" by Sybil MacBeth about four years ago and began keeping an artistic prayer journal.
From there I discovered zendalas and lived there for a little while, still praying while drawing. I was so surprised by how much drawing focused my mind on praying.
Then, on a whim, two friends and I took some art lessons from a local artist. She put paint in my hand... something I was way too afraid to try alone. From there, I've had the courage to try water colors, markers, colored pencils, water color pencils, and charcoal. Lately, I've been dabbling in mixed-media art journaling.
I guess if I have a style, it's whimsical. All the little critters on my blog banner I drew in 2010, a year of great growth for me artistically. The girl is supposed to be me!
I have a great friend, CD, who has inspired, taught, and helped me along. I love my "art dates" with her!
I don't sell my art anywhere, but I do occasionally give away some things as gifts. I have a flickr account here. I also find typography very intriguing and post letters at letterPLAYGROUND.
Please check out my "Inspiration" tab. There are so many bloggers who have helped me along that I admire greatly. Many of them are listed on this page.
