Where did this come from? A dream last night about a cat... my friend sending a poem to me last week...the word "parsing" catching my attention in a book I'm listening to...and of course the whole "B" thing I've got going on...dunno. But, anyway, the images wanted to be on paper. :-)
He comes-
a dog with a bone,
an old Tom cat with
a mangled bird to lay
at her feet and
she is horrified.
He comes-
slicing open her chest
and scooping out her heart,
a bear stealing secret honey,
waking the sleeping
hive.
So now she,
the lone queen
of swarming thoughts and emotions,
of memories and desires,
is left to call
them home,
left to parse
through what remains,
and then begin the slow process
of making sweetness
from her sins
again.
