Seven on Saturday

I used to write little blurbs for a website called Six Sentences. You could write anything you wanted as long as it was done in six sentences. Colons and dashes abounded! I haven't done it for a while, but it was a great exercise. So, here's seven sentences for your consideration:

C.S. Lewis once said that in some ways we are like fish except that we swim around in time, not water. The oddity, though, is that unlike fish who will die if taken out of water, we seem most uncomfortable darting around in the sea of Time. How many times have we said, "How time flies! Is it really already that late?" Or, how many times at work have you watched the time crawl by, like honey dripping from a spoon? And aren't we so often shocked when we have been away from someone for years and meet them again to find that they haven't been frozen away somewhere, but have actually grown older? Children especially surprise us - how many of us have exclaimed when seeing our blushing niece or nephew, "I can't believe how much you've grown!" Lewis thought this uncomfortableness we have with time is evidence of it not being our natural media - we were created as eternal beings meant to live forever without the deadly ticking away of time.

Write Seven Sentences about anything and let me know! It's a fun challenge.
