Happy Mothers Day to all my bloggy friends! Hope your day is turning out as wonderful as mine!
1. Ah... After a sweet little nap, I'm sipping on a hot cup of coffee, eating a piece (a sliver, I promise) of scrumptious chocolate cake The Boy (ahem) made for me, watching my favorite movie - The Matrix (yes, really), reading during commercials, and blogging in bits and pieces. A nice dinner awaits me tonight courtesy of Matt and friend. Can't wait to see what they cook up! It could be anything from fillet mignon to pizza.
2. Worship was wonderful this morning. A great mother's day present just to be there with all my family, to have Matt and E beside me, to see The Boy up on stage playing his guitar, and watch Mary with the children's mime group. And the sermon? Ha! It was on the same story of Jesus healing the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years. (See my last Simple entry, "On my mind...)
3. Mary made me this beautiful faux-Pandora bracelet... made the beads, painted each one, and strung them up. Pretty sweet, huh? And The Girl wrote me the sweetest little note that made me cry. (I really am a blubber baby - see my last Simple entry, "I am wondering... Ha.)

4. For the past few years I've been emailing my mom special mother's day photos. Here's this year's set. I'm pretty happy with them. :-)

5. We had a wonderful afternoon and evening yesterday celebrating a friend's graduation from college in Charlotte and just enjoying old friends. Miss you, Cross family!

6. I found this here. How can people be so ridiculously creative? They never cease to amaze me. The artist is Diem Chau from Seattle and you can see more of her work here.
7. So much has been speaking to me in my Bible reading... I'll leave these verses with you from 1 Chronicles 9:24-27. I just loved the visual image of this:
The gatekeepers were on the four sides, east, west, north, and south. And their kinsmen who were in their villages were obligated to come in every seven days, in turn, to be with these, for the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted to be over the chambers and the treasures of the house of God. And they lodged around the house of God, for on them lay the duty of watching, and they had charge of opening it every morning.
The duty of watching... the chambers and treasures of the house of God... opening it every morning. So much beautiful imagery there... I'll have to chew on that some more.
