So We Decided to Move

The poetry prompt from WD's Poetic Asides yesterday was:

"...take the phrase "So we decided to (blank)" and fill in the blank. Make that your title and write a poem."

HT's is here about going to the zoo, funny as always.

I thought of our decision to move here to NC...15 YEARS AGO!! What a big decision it was for us...or so we thought. Looking back now, we see how little we were in control and how much God really was!

So We Decided to Move

An ad circled in the paper,
a resume sealed and sent,
a long telephone call,
and off on a plane we went.

The interview went well,
all said and done,
the money was good,
the process begun.

So we decided to move
a thousand miles away,
us two, our girl and boy,
a little scared, buy hey.

We found the perfect house,
two stories set in lots of trees,
four bedrooms, a cul-de-sac,
singing birds, buzzing bees.

Now we look back and
see God’s providential hand
moving and prompting us
in His much bigger plan.

Here we have added
one more to our number,
here we work and play,
live, love and slumber.

And here He has shown us
His most marvelous Grace
He has taught us, loved us,
Met us here in this place.
