Blue

A little late today....busy, busy! The prompt for yesterday with Poetic Asides was:

"...pick a color, make that the title of your poem, and write a poem that is inspired by that color."

Red is my favorite color, but "blue" is what came out! Here's my go:

Blue

The slightest hint in
a slivered piece
of summer
moon

Soft and milky in
a blinkless
newborn
stare

Washed out in
a favorite
pair of
jeans

Shimmering in
the ocean’s
rolling
waves

Painted solid in
a pillowed
Carolina
sky

Navy, denim, steel,
slate, aqua, teal -
comfort
colors.
